The Insurance industry is spending $1.4 million a day to fight reform. The right-wing is organizing “unruly mobs” to disrupt healthcare town meetings across America. The behavior is so obvious, obnoxious, and antidemocratic that reporters have written about it all over the country.
Anne Dunev urges us to do away with insurance entirely, because it costs too much and contributes nothing to healthcare. In fact, she feels that insurance companies by their nature are bad for healthcare.
She also shows that the pharmaceutical industry spends more on advertising and promotion than on research and development. Properly prescribed prescription drugs now kill 2 1/2 times as many people as car wrecks ever year.
