What a piece of photographic history right here. I’m always happy to see what’s shared on this photo stream!!! Thank You for sharing such wonderful photos and history!!!
President Kennedy appears to be talking with Florida Governor Farris Bryant, seated to the President’s left. Behind the President, smoking his pipe, is U. S. Senator Mike Mansfield. Seated beside Senator Mansfield (looking away) is US Representative Claude Pepper. In front (L-R) is Edward Grant Stockdale, the U. S. ambassador to Ireland, Congressman Dante Fascell, and the Governor’s wife, Mrs. Farris (Julia) Bryant.
Congressmen Pepper and Fascell were Florida Democrats, and Senator Mansfield was a Montana Democrat, and the Senate Majority Leader. Stockdale was a former Florida State Representative.
