It looks like Al Franken is gradually pulling ahead in his recount in the Minnesota election for U.S. Senator. He just won a court case to get all eligible ballots counted.
(Why is this even an issue? If it is a legal ballot that meets all the election criteria, why does anyone have to go to court to get it counted? <sigh>)
Last week, when he was only four votes ahead, they were saying that if all the “lost” absentee ballots were counted (the ones that were legal but just not counted because—well, gee, just because they were expected to be for a Democrat—that he would win.
What a cliff-hanger. However, kudos to his campaign for having the backbone to keep fighting, unlike some other past Democratic campaigns we could mention—but won’t, of course. That would be just….um….snarky.
