The state canvassing board has finished recounting all of the ballots. Al Franken leads by 225 votes. The canvassing board is scheduled to certify Franken as the winner today.
The Young Turks are snarky, but in this case the commentary really adds something to these video clips of Dick Cheney confessing to authorizing torture. Cheney actually admits to a Federal crime (violating the Geneva convention).
Scott McClellan says Bush admitted to him that the President authorized the outing of an undercover CIA agent. An act that his own father, while he was President had defined as treason. And he did it in a time of war. (During wartime, treason can be punishable by death.)
The good news is that Houston’s popular mayor, Bill White (D) is said to be planning to run for the U.S. Senate at the end of his term as mayor.
